In The Silence
In the Silence was originally written as a piano solo for my Mom for Valentine's Day. But as soon as I
finished, I realized it had words. Four months later, the words for this song arrived, and it became blue-grass in
the recording studio. I want to be like Job's friends before they opened their mouths. They came and sat with him
for a week, without a word; their presence was enough. We don't have to say anything; we can just be.
Please
pray for the Spirit's presence among us.
Our prayers come through our hearts, they’re understood
Our deepest longing can still be heard
We don’t know what to say, and that’s okay.
We don’t know what to say, and that’s okay.

So together we’ll pass the time
Me sitting here with you, your hand in mine
Our deepest longing can still be heard
We’ll know the peace of God, and trust the way.
Sometimes words aren’t enough, and that’s okay

I have held you in darkest hour
You’ve felt my healing hand, beheld my power
So trust me once more to know what’s good
You need not say a word, it’s understood
We need not say a word, it’s understood.

We can trust you through dark and light
Your love it overflows, our hearts ignite
In peace with you we’ll one day unite
Again we’ll be in awe, and that’s alright
We won’t know what to say, and that’s okay
