Rainbow of Hope
Rainbow of Hope unfolded when I was in my rental car in Connecticut in the most torrential driving rain. All of
a sudden, the rain stopped and straight ahead of me was a gorgeous double rainbow. (Check out the picture on the
photos page!) It arched across the road and looked like a colorful shawl wrapping the world in the promise, we have
no idea where these shawls may go.
Please pray that our work will be used to bring hope.
Somewhere tonight it’s misty and it’s raining
Somewhere somebody’s dreams they are changing
A baby boy is born, his lonely mother mourns
Stares out the window and waits for the dawn.

Somewhere tonight a heavy heart is breaking
Somewhere somebody’s dreams they are changing
Another soldier lost, oh what a heavy cost.
Now there’s a family left to carry the loss.

Maybe this shawl on one weary shoulder could ease someone’s pain
Maybe this shawl will keep out more than the rain?

Somewhere today somebody wants to keep you warm.
Somewhere a ray of light is peeking through the thunderstorm.
An arc of color shines, promised ‘til the end of time
Sent to remind you that God won’t change his mind.

CHORUS
Maybe this shawl on one weary shoulder could ease someone’s pain
Maybe this shawl will keep out more than the rain?
Maybe this shawl on one weary shoulder
could somehow help somebody to cope.
Maybe this shawl will be somebody’s rainbow.

This simple gift I pray, my heartfelt offering, is all that I can give.
Lord only you could know the places it may go,
Take it, use it.

Maybe this shawl on one weary shoulder
could somehow help somebody to cope.
Maybe this shawl will be somebody’s rainbow of hope.
Maybe this shawl will be somebody’s rainbow,
will be somebody’s rainbow of hope.
