STUDIO POLICIES - WOLF PIANO STUDIO
                                      2009-2010

TUITION – 30, 45, and 60 minute lesson are available.

TEACHER RESPONSIBILITY -
* Nurture a positive atmosphere for learning.
* Provide varied performance opportunities.
* Set short and long-term goals for each student.
* A dedication to your piano development.
* Maintaining quality instruments at the studio
* Further her teaching skills by belonging to professional organizations attending workshops and educational programs,
reading professional publications, and engaging in other activities leading to her continued growth.

PAYMENT OF FEES – Payable for the month in advance of lessons, are to be made of the first lesson of each month.
Please make checks payable to Wolf Piano Studio.  Statements are sent at the end of the month to show books and any
credit on your account.  Balance should never exceed one month’s lessons.  A $10.00 overdue fee per family will be
charged to accounts not paid in full by the 15th of each month.

ABSENCES -  Student-Missed lessons will be made up at the teacher's discretion.  The studio is a full-time career, and
there are no make-up slots available.  You are responsible to come to your scheduled lesson.  Lessons missed by the
teacher will be credited to you or rescheduled.  Once-in-a-lifetime family events, medical emergencies, and musical
absences (participating in band concerts, etc) and snow emergencies will be considered on a case by case basis.  (Too
much homework, tiredness, play rehearsals, going to the game, unpreparedness and forgetfulness ARE NOT excused
absences.)  This is in line with others in my industry:  dance, sports, other lessons, etc.  If you miss due to a vacation, you
will still be charged.  Consider this part of your vacation expenses.  I hope you understand the need for professionalism in
this regard.   I do NOT want you to come when you are ill.  Please do me the courtesy of a telephone call for any reason.

STUDIO RULES - Remove shoes at the door if it has been raining or snowing.  Use only the waiting room, studio and
bathroom facilities on the lower level.  The toy room and other areas are not for studio student use!  When waiting check
your homework, read a music magazine, or listen to a variety of CDs.  I highly encourage you to use the computer center,
games, and the Clavinova.  You are expected to be on time, prepared and bring all of your books, including your
assignment notebook EVERY WEEK.

LESSON TERMINATION - A one month notice is required in the event of lesson termination by the student.  Lessons
will be terminated by the teacher in the event of irregular attendance, repeated failure to prepare assigned material or
disruptive behavior.  A one month probation period with parent notification will precede lesson termination.  Missing
recitals or competitions without a phone call is grounds for immediate termination.

PRACTICE RECOMMENDATIONS – Practice is a must.  30 minutes daily per elem. student, 45 minutes daily per
middle school student, 60 or more minutes daily per high school student is a guideline.  Practice every day is essential to
improvement. A set schedule that includes practice at the same time every day, perhaps after dinner, or before school is
best.  Some weeks there will be more to practice, other weeks will be less.  When you come to lessons, you have
entered “NO EXCUSE” land.  Do not apologize for less than adequate practice during the week.  We will work together
on the things that did get better.  Keep track of your practice minutes in your notebook.

VISITS - Parents are always welcome to sit in on lessons up to once per month.

RECITALS - At least 2 performance opportunities will be available to each student per school year.  Contests, theory,
and end of year Guild auditions are also available.  A GUILD AUDITION IS REQUIRED OF ALL STUDENTS PER
YEAR.  Performances at nursing homes, malls, etc. are not required but encouraged
